Wengen

Overview

Across the Lauterbrunnen Valley from Muerren is the picturesque mountain village of Wengen. In winter, Wengen is one of the most popular ski resorts in Europe and a regular stop on the championship ski circuit. The Lauberhorn slope, a few hundred meters from central Wengen, is the longest race on the World Cup tour. In summer (when we’re there!), Wengen serves as the perfect point-of-beginning for spectacular hikes and is one of the few stops on the route to the Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest train station. Stunning views of the famous Jungfrau massif are visible no matter where you are in town. Accessible only by a small mountain train, Wengen is an adorable, tranquil village and a wonderful place for a peaceful after dinner stroll.
