Located in the Kandertal Valley just west of the famous Jungfrau massif, Kandersteg is a peaceful Swiss village surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in Switzerland. Home to what many consider the most beautiful alpine lake in Europe, Kandersteg is a natural base for outdoor enthusiasts and hikers of all ages. Just south of the village is one of the world’s largest international scout centers and campgrounds. It takes just a moment in this gorgeous valley to understand why so many choose Kandersteg as their favorite getaway-of-choice for long weekends in the pristine outdoors. Accommodations & Dining

Guests of Switzerland Hiking Tours are treated to 3-Star accommodations at the Hotel Victoria just a stone’s throw from Kandersteg’s tiny train station. Our five-course meals are taken in the main dining hall downstairs, a throwback to the great Belle Époque era of yesteryear. It is here that we enjoy what are arguably the best meals of the entire summer, and that is saying something! Come meet Phillip and his crew as they tend to our needs before and after hiking the trails in the incomparable village of Kandersteg. As mentioned in the “What to Expect” section of this website, we cannot for the life of us figure out why the Hotel Victoria isn’t a 4-Star resort (Winner of the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Award).
